How other companies contribute to the development of animal welfare / 香港其他行業的經營者如何對動物福祉發展作出貢獻?

除了在業務上與寵物有關的企業外, 部份從事其他行業的公司也會透過撥捐部份利潤、贊助及合辦活動等來支持部份動物福祉機構。
Despite the pets related firms, some enterprises or companies from other kinds of business support the animal welfare groups by donating part of their profits, and sponsoring the activities held by animal welfare groups.

從筆者的所見所聞中, 香港的中式連鎖餐廳「譚仔三哥米線」可算是較積極支持動物福祉機構的企業之一。 除了在2015年於觀塘開設尖東忌廉哥主題店, 部份特殊日子的營運收益會撥捐予牠名下的動物福祉機構「忌廉哥慈善基金」外; 他們從2018年起把旗下所有餐廳銷售紙巾的收益撥捐亞洲動物基金, 以支持該會在亞洲等地拯救黑熊的工作。 除了「譚仔三哥米線」 外, 香港有部份餐廳透過提供場地舉辦領養日, 來表達對動物福祉機構的支持。
Local restaurant chain “Tam Jai Sam Gor Noodles" is probably one of the most active supporters for the animal welfare groups in Hong Kong, according to what I’ve observed up to present. Its “Cream Brother" theme restaurant has donated part of its profits in special days to the Cream Brother Foundation since its establishment in Kwun Tong since 2015; On the other hand, it started to donate the revenue from selling pocket-tissues to Animals Asia from 2018, as an attempt to support its rescuing moon bears’ project in Asia. Besides “Tam Jai Sam Gor Noodles", many restaurants expressed their support towards animal welfare groups through providing their venue to held pet adoption days and etc.

在「譚仔三哥米線」以外, 部份香港的新興品牌開始支持香港的動物福祉機構。 以在年月下旬和保護動物慈善協會(LAP)在灣仔茂蘿街7號合辦領養動物活動的本地企業「陪我」, 是一所香港創立的傢俬品牌, 除了和動物福祉機構合辦活動外, 他們也有設計方便寵物使用的傢俱。
Besides “Tam Jai Sam Gor Noodles", many Hong Kong based new enterprises started to support the locally established animal welfare groups. “Never Alone", which partners with the Lifelong Animal Protection Charity to held pets adoption day in 7 Mallory Street (Wanchai) in late April, is locally established new furniture brand. Despite joining force with several animal welfare groups in holding adoption events, it has designed several pets-friendly furniture.

愛護動物協會獲得星島報業的邀請, 從2019年12月起逢周二在旗下的免費報章《頭條日報》連載領養欄目, 為了有效推廣動物權益和相關福祉, 他們從1月中的相關欄目裡追加介紹這方面的專訪文章。 事實上, 《頭條日報》的市場對手《AM730》在2016至2017年於逢周五推出名為「Pet Shop Guys」的欄目, 曾為多所中小型動物福祉機構連載領養啟事, 但因為版面太小並欠缺讀者支持而不了了之; 《晴報》在2022年8月邀來便攜式寵物氧氣機品牌QQ O2的創辦人蔡乙溰(她同時是愛護動物協會的暫養家長之一)撰寫專欄, 宣揚愛護動物及重視動物福祉的訊息。
The SPCA Hong Kong is invited by the Sing Tao News Corporation to issue its dogs adoption columns in its free Chinese newspaper HK Headline every Tuesday since late December 2019, it has later extended with related features in order to promote animal rights and related welfare. While AM730, one of the HK Headlines’ rivals, has introduced a column named “Pet Shop Guys" issued on every Friday between 2016 and 2017. It has issued animal adoption news for several smaller animal welfare groups, but it was later discontinued due to lack of readers’ support and its contents are too small when comparing with other columns. The Sky Post has invited Ms. Choi Yue-hai – founder of QQ O2 Pet Oxygen Concentrator and one of foster parents of SPCA Hong Kong – writing columns regularly for promoting animal rights and related welfare, raiding public’s awareness in protecting them.

部分公營機構透過慈善捐款作為吸引顧客轉用旗下電子服務的誘因, 例如煤氣公司為了吸引顧客轉用電子帳單, 將為每宗申請捐款20元予指定的其中一間環保慈善機構, 當中以保護野生動物為主的海洋公園保育基金及世界自然基金會(香港分會)也是其中兩所受益機構。
Some of the public enterprises used charity donation as one of the incentives for promoting their electronic services. The Town Gas announced to donate 20 Hong Kong dollars each to the selected environmental protection NGO groups for every customer switching to electronic invoices. While the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong and the World Wide Fund for Nature Hong Kong Branch, which concern the conservation of wildlife species, are 2 of the selected charity groups.

香港國際機場旗下的香港國際機場環保基金致力支持大嶼山一帶的自然保育工作, 例如他們從2018年起和綠色和平合辦 《賞.識東涌河》活動, 透過生態旅遊及相關自然教育提升市民保護當地自然生態的意識 。
The Hong Kong International Airport Environmental Fund was established by the Airport Authority in 2011 to provide funding support for projects, activities and initiatives that promote environmental protection, green living and a sustainable lifestyle in Hong Kong, especially the conservation of the nearby Lantau Island. It allied with the Green Power Hong Kong to introduce the In-To Tung Chung River Project in 2018, which conserve the biodiversity of Tung Chung River catchment through regular water quality and ecological monitoring, and public engagement programmes.

為了慶祝赤柱廣場的重新開幕, 接管該商場的領展物業公司從2011年開始在當地舉辦「海濱寵物嘉年華」, 邀請參與的寵物和牠們的主人參與挑戰世界紀錄的集體活動, 例如寵物集體刷牙及人寵集體瑜伽等; 領展在每年的活動裡把部份收益撥捐動物福祉機構作慈善用途, 愛護動物協會、救狗之家、亞洲動物基金(香港)及保護遺棄動物協會等曾成為受益機構。 此外, 領展物業公司在2021年和環保協進會合作推出「連繫自然」計劃, 在領展旗下秀茂坪商場和慈雲山中心的戶外空間建立蝴蝶園, 並從社區招募大使及提供培訓, 協助管理蝴蝶園, 從而希望孕育以商場為本的蝴蝶棲息地, 在社區建立關注可持續發展的網絡。
To celebrate the re-opening of the Stanley Plaza, the Link REIT (which has taken over the ownership of the Stanley Plaza) held the “Paws by the Sea" carnival since 2011. The carnival is used to held “record-breaking" pet activities every year, such as the largest number of pets brushing teeth, and joining Yin Yoga. The revenue raised from every year’s “Paws by the Seas" will be contributed to different animal welfare groups or corporations, such as the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong), Hong Kong Dog Rescue, Animals Asia Foundation (Hong Kong), the Society of the Abandoned Animals (SAA) and etc. On the other hand, the Link REIT incorporated with the Environmental Association and jointly launched the “Nature Link" project in 2021, which oversee the creation of two outdoor butterfly gardens in the vicinity of Link’s malls in Sau Mau Ping and Tse Wan Shan. It serves as a start to the journey of building a territory-wide ecosystem favoured by butterflies in urban area aiming to increase local biodiversity.

香港有不少大型及中型商場向來是動物福祉機構舉辦領養活動的熱門地點, 位於土瓜灣的U Place是其中之一。
Many shopping complexes in Hong Kong are popular venues for animal welfare groups in holding adoption days, the U Place of To Kwa Wan is one of the significant examples.

沙田新城市廣場在8月和香港救援鳩鴿及雀鳥等動物福祉機構,合辦「城之動植物公園」工作坊, 培育社會大眾愛護動植物的意識。 (節錄自2021年8月10日出版的《晴報》)
The New Town Plaza in Shatin allied with several animal welfare groups like Hong Kong Pigeon and Dove Rescue to held the Animal & Botanical Garden in City, in order to educate the public about the preservation of animal and plants in the nature. 除了赤柱廣場外, 沙田新城市廣場在2021年1月把戶外平台改建為「寵物同樂園」, 為寵物和牠們的主人提供遊樂的空間; 同時商場方面推出野餐套裝, 寵物車租賃服務及寵物行為訓練班等。
Besides the Stanley Plaza, the New Town Plaza of Shatin converted its outdoor platform as the New Town Plaza Pets Park in January 2021, providing another recreational venue for the pets and their owners. On the other hand, the New Town Plaza introduced other related packages, such as the pets’ picnic set, pets’ cars rental services, pets behavioural training courses and etc.

葵涌的新都會廣場將從2022年5月1日至7月17日舉辦名為「DOGA大師班」的推廣活動, 並且透過相關網上活動捐出善款及寵物糧食予動物英雄聯盟及阿棍屋, 同時在7月1至10日開放予愛護動物協會(香港)進行慈善義賣。
The Metro Plaza of Kwai Chung held the “Master DOGA Class" promotional program from May 1st to July 17th of 2022, and donated money and pet food through e-based activities to Paws Hero and House of Joy and Mercy. It also provide venue for the SPCA (Hong Kong) to held charity sales between July 1st to 10th.

The D2 Place of Lai Chi Kok held the Meow Meow Meow Handcraft Flea Market between November 20th to 21st in 2021, which raised funds for Cat’s Star Hong Kong through charity sales and introduced the animal welfare group through the billboards in the market.

位於銅鑼灣的利園從2021年11月28日至2022年1月9日舉辦「Furry Tales寵物慈善活動」, 不少動物福祉機構像野生救援、亞洲動物基金(香港)、保護動物慈善協會(LAP)、貓狗領養慈善協會(PUC)、救狗之家(HKDR)及西貢流浪狗協會(SKSFF)將舉行寵物講座、工作坊及領養活動等。
The Lee Gardens has held the “Furry Tales" charitable event between November 28th, 2021 and January 9th, 2022. Several animal welfare groups like Wild Aid, Animals Asia (Hong Kong), Lifelong Animal Protection Society (LAP), Paws United Charity (PUC), Hong Kong Dog Rescue (HKDR) and Sai Kung Strayed Friends Foundation (SKSFF) would held talks, workshops and adoption days during this period.

將軍澳中心在2023年8月舉辦與陸蟹及寄居蟹有關的主題展覽, 其中藉著和世界自然基金會(香港)等機構合辦相關活動來提升社會大眾的自然保育意識。
Tseung Kwan O Center held an exhibition about the land crab and hermit crab during August 2023, they tried toi raise the public’s awareness of natural conservation through co-hosting related programs with several environmental conservation groups like the WWF Hong Kong.

位於元朗的Yoho Mall在2023年9月和香港拯救貓狗協會合辦中秋寵物市集, 藉此向社會大眾宣揚愛護動物的訊息。
The Yoho Hall of Yuen Long has allied with the Hong Kong Saving Cats and Dogs Association to promote their Mid-Autumn Kiosks during September 2023. Such promotions can raise concerns on animal welfare among the public in the forthcoming Mid-Autumn Festival.

向來成為遊客景點的香港摩天輪把2017年4月的部份營運收益撥捐給海洋公園保育基金, 以支持後者在野生動物保育的科研及公眾教育, 同時他們把摩天輪命名為「轉出生態道」, 透過場外的廣告板宣傳自備購物袋和停用膠飲管等環保訊息。
The Hong Kong Observation Wheel (HKOW) donated a portion of ticket sales in April 2017 to the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation HK, as an attempt to support its scientific research and civil education in natural conservation. Despite entitling their skyscraper as “Spin for Survival", it promoted the environmental friendly habitats like “Bring your own bag" and “Stop using plastic straws" through its advertising billboards.

香港太古集團向來支持海洋公園保育基金及香港大學等的海洋生態保育工作, 他們在2022年初和《國家地理雜誌》合作攝製關於香港海洋生態的紀錄片。
The Swire Group regularly sponsors the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation HK and the University of Hong Kong in their marine conservation projects. They joined force with the National Geographic magazine in producing a documentary about the marine environment of Hong Kong in early 2022.

高衛物業在2023年暑假透過旗下的Kids Club支持海洋公園保育基金的「海洋守護先鋒約章」及合辦「高衛『童』行2023: 『童』遊南區 – 探索海洋之旅」親子參觀活動, 以培養兒童關注及保護海洋生態的意識。
Goodwell Property Management Ltd sponsors the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation HK’s “Charter of Ocean Conservation Pioneer” under its satellite Kids Club and held the “Kids Go With Goodwell 2023 – Island South Exploration X Ocean Park” during the summer vacation of 2023. They wished the program could established the children’s and youngsters’ awareness of the marine conservation.

在不少從事汽車業界人士的心目中, 關注流浪動物及野生動植物等的言行向來被視為「不務正業」, 甚至是予以譏諷; 不過, 隨著這類問題受到社會的廣泛關注, 他們也不能不作出妥協。 雅士頓馬田的香港代理和保育野生動物基金舉行慈善拍賣; 據保育野生動物基金的官方網站所說, 這次拍賣所得的收益將除了用作支持嘉道理農場暨植物園在本地野生動植物的保育工作外, 也會按成功競投者的意願分配給其中一所動物福祉機構, 海洋公園保育基金、救狗之家、愛護動物協會(香港)、香港動物基金、世界自然基金會(香港分會)及大自然保育協會成為其中6間候選機構。
To many automobiles makers and related industries, concerning the welfare of the wildlife and strayed animals are criticized as loafers, but they have to compromise over that with the uprising concerns on these aspects in recent years. Aston Martin Hong Kong’s had held a charity auction in May 2021, which raised fund for the Auction 4 Wildlife by selling the limited “Gulf Blue Edition" Aston Martin Vantage sports car. While the Auction 4 Wildlife clarified that 50% of the fund raised by this charity auction will mainly support the local wildlife conservation projects raised by the Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden, while the remainder will be donated to one of the following animal welfare groups on behalf of the successful bidder, including the Ocean Park Conservation Foundation, Hong Kong Dog Rescue, the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Hong Kong (SPCA Hong Kong), Hong Kong Paws Foundation, World Wide Fund For Nature Hong Kong and the Nature Conservancy.

部分大型企業透過慈善捐款作為支持動物福祉機構的方法, 例如Aeon百貨公司引進「幸福的黃色小票」計劃, 透過顧客捐贈收據的金額, 按比例捐贈物資予指定的慈善機構; 當中海洋公園保育基金及愛護動物協會(香港)也是其中兩所受益機構; OK便利店在2021年3月推出「捐贈E印仔」計劃, 透過顧客捐贈E印花撥款予慈善機構, 保護遺棄動物協會(SAA)及環保促進會成為其中一間受惠機構。
Some of the large enterprises used charity donation as one of the methods for supporting animal welfare groups. Aeon Department Store has introduced the “Yellow Receipts Campaign" in which donate resources to the charity groups by encourage customers donating their receipts to one of the specified charity corporations. The Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong and the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Hong Kong) are 2 of the selected charity groups of this scheme. While the Circle K Convenience Stores introduced its “OK Stamp IT" donation scheme in March 2021, which donated money to several charitable firms through customers’ donation of their electric tokens, the Society for the Abandoned Animals and the Green Council are 2 of the charitable firms benefited from this scheme.

另一個類似的例子是網上時裝店Zalora在2020年2至3月推出網上購物優惠, 並把部份利潤捐助予救狗之家以支持他們在拯救動物及營運兩所動物福利中心的工作。
E-Boutique Zalora is another similar example, in which they promoted special offer between February to March 2020. Part of the income from their e-sales during this period will be contributed to Hong Kong Dog Rescue, as a support over their operation of 2 animal welfare centres and rescuing strayed dogs.

The revenue raised from this charitable event are contributed to the local animal welfare groups like Tai O Community Cattle Group, Teams for Animals in Lantau South (TAILS), Villa Kunterbunt and etc.

部份教育玩具品牌也和動物福祉機構進行合作, 例如磁石積木品牌PIXIO支持愛護動物協會在2021年4月舉辦的「寵愛有牠.愉快動物」親子工作坊, 透過積木砌出心目中的「愉快動物」, 喻意著大家携手與建立動物和諧共融的社會。
Some educational toys brands tend to co-operate with animal welfare groups to arise their profile. For example, PIXIO magnetic blocks has supported SPCA Hong Kong’s “Love animals and care for the community” Parent-Child Workshop launched in April 2021. It aimed to help symbolise that we need everyone’s input in building a harmonious society with animals with the participants’ creativity to build their own “happy animal" with the blocks.

當然, 小商店的規模再小, 部份以支持動物福祉工作為信念的店舖也會盡自己的力量來推動支持這方面的使命。 例如屯門市中心一帶某間銷售手提電話及周邊配件的小商店, 間中會把銷售指定產品的部份收益撥捐給保護遺棄動物協會, 同時該店舖也有張貼其宣傳海報及設置捐款箱, 可見店長對該會的支持和肯定程度如何。
Of course, some smaller shops utilize their own effort to support animal welfare groups, in which being established as their lifelong mission and commitment. A mobile phone and accessories store in Tuen Mun Town Centre has been a keen supporter of the Society for Abandoned Animals (SAA), besides donating part of its income from selected products to the firm, some of the SAA’s posters and charity box are shown in the shop.

當然, 部份動物福祉機構的慈善捐款不只局限於一間公營或私營企業; 例如亞洲善待動物組織(PETA Asia)成功邀請24間小型咖啡店, 在「國際貓貓日」(8月8日)參與義賣咖啡籌款活動; 參與的咖啡店將從每杯純素咖啡的銷售裡捐款5元, 來支持該會在促進動物權益方面的工作。
Of course, some of the fund-raising events for animal welfare groups are not only limited to one enterprise. People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals’ Asian Branch (PETA Asia) has successfully invited 24 cafes to join its “PETA’s Coffee for Cats Day" project: The cafes invited will donate $5 on every sale of vegan-coffee in this year’s “International Cats’ Day" at August 8th, the fund raised will be contributed to the PETA Asia’s work on the promotion and implementation of animal welfare in Hong Kong and China.

除了以上的財政支持外, 部份支持動物福祉機構的企業亦會身體力行地進行支持: 香港迪士尼的義工團隊在「國際狗狗日」(8月26日)前往阿棍屋在錦田的動物收容中心進行義務工作, 協助照顧被收容動物的日常起居工作。
Besides the financial support, some corporations provide volunteering services to support the animal welfare groups: The volunteers of the Disneyland Hong Kong visited the House of Joy and Mercy’s animal rescue centre in Kam Tin during the World’s Dog Day (August 26th, 2021) and provided volunteering by taking care of the animals living there.
