The core business of Hong Kong Non-Profit Making Veterinary Clinic (NPV) – its veterinary clinics and its mobile clinic / 非牟利獸醫協會(NPV)的核心業務 – 它的獸醫診所及流動治療車

Since its establishment in 2005, The Non-Profit Making Veterinary Service Society Limited (NPV) aims to establish the first non-profit making veterinarian clinic Hong Kong, providing affordable pets’ medical costs for their owners. Since its first veterinarian clinic was opened in Sham Shui Po at November 2006, the NPV has currently operated 8 veterinarian clinics in Sham Shui Po and North Point, and a mobile veterinarian clinic for serving the pet owners living in the New Territories. Here comes the brief introduction of these clinics:

Since its first veterinarian clinic opened in 2006, the NPV’s veterinarian clinics are mostly concentrated in Ki Lung Street, Sham Shui Po.
In 2017, the NPV has received a big clinicar from Project Concern Hong Kong with necessary decoration sponsored by donors, and its mobile veterinarian clinic was then put into service since November 2017, which serves the pet owners living in the New Territories. Despite providing regular veterinary services in Fanling at every Friday and Saturday, they will be on duty at other parts of the New Territories if requested. For example, it has been stationed near the “Hand in Paw" Animal Rescue in Tuen Mun after the latter suffered by the leak-out of suspected poisonous gases in October 2019, providing immediate medical checks and treatments for the cats and dogs living in the shelter home.

The Non-Profit Making Veterinary Service Society Limited (NPV) opened its first veterinary imaging centre in Cedar Street, Sham Shui Po at September 2019. The centre has equipped with several advanced medical facilities like MRI and CT scanning systems, minimally invasive surgery systems and etc, providing comprehensive and accurate medical treatment for the animals suffering from serious diseases.

Despite providing veterinary services, the NPV’s veterinary clinics have reported the suspected animal abuse cases to the police: a dog owner is misled by his friend and docked his poodle’s tail by a string, which make the poodle’s tail suffered from necrosis and suppuration. The owner then brought his dog to the NPV clinic for medical treatment. The veterinarian thought the poodle’s situation is a suspected animal abuse case and called the police after discussing with his colleagues. The dog owner is finally arrested and imprisoned for 4 weeks, while the injured poodle was confiscated and arranged for adoption by the SPCA Hong Kong. It is therefore proved that the NPV is not just an ordinary veterinarian group, in which they will speak out for any animal abuse cases through their daily operation.
